Driver Hiring Criteria
We offer great truck driving opportunities to safe, experienced truck drivers who are committed to providing exceptional customer service. DOT Safety & Compliance is a priority. We hire only “Proven Drivers”, but will aid in the training of a stellar candidate.
Screening Process
Each candidate must pass our rigorous four-part screening process before we accept any driver as an employee:
1. Application
Complete an in-depth DOT application, which includes a variety of questions about driving history, skills, and limitations.
2. Interview
We conduct a comprehensive personal interview to evaluate ability to meet our strict qualifications.
3. Records Review & Verification
We review current Motor Vehicle Record (MVR), Pre-employment Screening Program (PSP), as well as verify thorough employment background and criminal history in addition to the past three years of drug/alcohol history as mandated by the DOT.
4. Pre-Employment DOT Drug Screen and Qualifying DOT
Physical
Each driver is required to take a pre-employment DOT drug screen and qualifying DOT physical prior to employment. Drivers are not eligible to drive for us until a negative drug screen result and passed DOT physical are received.
Eligibility Requirements
Verification as listed on the PSP; MVR and/or driver application
Our hiring criteria exceeds the DOT-mandated requirements for CDL Drivers. Drivers must:
•Be at least 23 years of age & no more than 2 jobs in the last 12 months
•Have a minimum of 12 months recent, verifiable CDL experience
•Pass a DOT Physical by a certified Medical Examiner
•Have no more than 3 moving violations combined in the past 3 years
•Have no serious violations combined in the past 3 years
(Serious violations include: excessive speeding - 15 mph over limit; improper or erratic lane change; following too close; a violation arising in connection with a fatal accident; driving a CMV without a CDL; driving a CMV without a CDL in the driver's possession; driving a CMV without the proper class of CDL and/or endorsements for the specific vehicle being operated; violating a State or local law or ordinance on motor vehicle traffic control prohibiting texting and/or prohibiting the use of a hand-held mobile telephone while driving a CMV
•Have no more than 3 preventable accidents in the past 3 years
•No serious preventable crashes in the past 3 years
(Serious crashes include: at fault rear-end collision; rollover; jackknife; head-on collision; etc.
•Pass a pre-employment DOT drug screen and be entered into our DOT certified random drug screen program
• Have no Reckless Ops, DUI, OWI or DWI convictions in the last 5 years; Felony convictions may preclude employment
•Must have insurability with our insurance provider
